Network of Executive Women
In late April, a few of our female employees and close clients attended a Network of Executive Women (NEW) meeting together.
The event took place just across the river from New York City and was titled “Executive Straight Talk: Resilience and Overcoming Adversity in Your Career.”
The moderator was Judith Spires, Chairman and CEO of Kings Supermarkets. Keynote speakers included Karen Gozzi, Vice President Social Media Advertising Content Creation for Wakefern; Linda Doherty, President & CEO of New Jersey Food Council; Subriana Pierce, Partner of Navigator Sales; and Joe Sofia, Senior Vice President for Wegman’s.
Each speaker shared struggles they had to overcome to achieve success in their career, career growth advice, and some things they wish they’d done differently. The overwhelming message from the session was that your career is your own. You need to take ownership of your future and take the steps necessary to get where you want to go. Simply put…don’t wait for anyone else to do it for you.
