Unwrapping Possibilities at EastPack 2016

New York City was recently home to EastPack, the largest packaging event on the East Coast, from June 14th through 16th, showcasing six additional, powerful expos on the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center show floor.

With a strong booth presence, Phototype was in the midst of more than 200 packaging industry suppliers and 2,000 packaging professionals from the food & beverage, health & beauty, and pharmaceutical & medical industries.

Socrates Rettos, Scott Gilbert and summer intern, Olivia Baer, took on the challenge of exhibiting at this esteemed show for the first time. Our booth showcased PQM and Phototype BizIQ™, sparking interest among attendees and other exhibitors. 

In addition, our services caught the attention of two industry journalists, one from Packaging Digest and the other with Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry. This led to engaging conversations about what Phototype has to offer, and set the stage for potential articles in these prestigious publications.

Our team gathered valuable insight networking with industry-leading companies, collaborated with like-minded professionals, and engaged in thoughtful discussions that led to new connections. The huge show floor also offered many opportunities to discover new developments in materials, design, quality testing and branding.

Scott added, “We discovered several companies in quality, software development for training and consultative specialties, offering services to both conventional packaging needs as well as medical. Many of the people we spoke to were unaware of programs and services like PQM and FRC. In addition to making new contacts, identifying potential sales leads and learning more about (highly regulated) packaging… we discovered technologies that could potentially be incorporated into our portfolio, bolstering the value of our service offerings to existing clients.”

When not working hard on the show floor, the team was busy mastering the subway, exploring the city and eating until they were full… and then a little bit more!

The crew is already coming up with new ideas for next year’s show — June 13–16, 2017, in New York City.
