June 2017

On May 1-2, Phototype and other industry leaders participated in FTA’s INFO*FLEX in Arizona, which featured more than 300 vendor booths and a total of 240 companies to witness the newest machinery, software, consumables, and other flexographic technologies. The event was hosted by the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), an organization that connects flexographers to help them grow their skills, expand their markets, and drive flexography practices within the packaging industry. Attendees also had the opportunity to listen to 15 discussion panels, across both days, and share ideas with other likeminded individuals and flexographers.

Phototype has been attending this annual conference for years. Competitors, both direct and indirect, attend the conference. It provides a good opportunity for us to generate new business and gain insights into the latest technology and tools in the world of flexography. Our booth typically features technologies that build off of the conference theme or location, and this year was no exception. In line with this year’s conference theme, “#TrendingNow”, our booth featured an interactive virtual reality experience that provided a birdseye view of Cincinnati that ended at Phototype’s headquarter campus.

Visitors to our booth also had the opportunity to learn more about Phototype’s key services, network, and catch up with other industry professionals. Chris Olberding, who attended this year’s conference, noted that “while our industry is considered big at a few billion dollars, it’s actually very small. Everyone has worked with everyone else at some point in their career, so the conference is almost like a reunion and a nice place to catch up with those people.”

Great job to Chris and the rest of the Phototype team who represented us so well in Phoenix!
